Eucalyptus Live Edge Wall Art

Eucalyptus Live Edge Wall Art

$650.00

There are many varieties of eucalyptus found across the world. Eucalyptus is native to Australia but was brought to California during the gold rush in the 1850’s. It found its way to Arizona during territorial days. This is Rose Gum eucalyptus, “Eucalyptus grandis” and can grow up to 175 feet tall and as wide as seven feet at its trunk. The heartwood is red or a brownish red; the sapwood is a lighter shade of the heartwood and almost indiscernible. Eucalyptus sometimes has a “fiddleback” pattern or very tight curls within the wood. This piece of eucalyptus was salvaged from a fire in Northern Arizona. The charred marks on the edges are the result of the fire.

The finish contains four coats of Tung oil which brings out the unique characteristics of the wood. Wood does expand and contract making it subject to slight checking, cracking and movement. Questions, you can call us anytime at 206-679-4084. Enjoy!
