This Claro Walnut Burl Live Edge End Table has Kingman turquoise and copper inlay. It is 28” long, 20” wide and 25 ½”.

Claro Walnut Burl (regia) is found in Northern California and Oregon. A variation is also found in the eastern United States. The most common source is from orchards but also from walnut that has been used for ornamental purposes. The wood is marbled with swirling brown and black streaks. This claro walnut is from Oregon.

Kingman turquoise is known for the sky-blue color. It comes from one of the oldest and most productive mines in North America. The mine dates back over 1000 years. The inlay also includes copper which is found in multiple states in the U.S. including Utah, Arizona, Montana, Michigan and New Mexico. Copper is very malleable and has a beautiful reddish-brown color that accents the Claro Walnut.

The finish contains six coats of Tung oil; sanded after each coat. Tung oil brings out the unique characteristics of the wood. The legs are from custom metal from Frank Seckler in Taos, NM. Wood does expand and contract making it subject to slight checking, cracking and movement. To minimize wood movement, cracking, checking or slight warping use water in a damp rag. Remove the excess moisture with a clean towel. For polishing a beeswax solution such as Howard Feed-N-Wax or Artisan Lemon Oil Wax is good. Just follow the directions from the manufacturer.
