Trichilia pallida is found from southern Mexico to Brazil and Peru. It can grow up to 82 feet with a trunk as wide as 28 inches. The bark is cream color and yellow. The heartwood is dark brown while the sapwood pale-yellow with pinkish-brown streaks. It is a hard, mostly straight-grained wood.
This Trichilia pallida is from Costa Rica and was harvested and exported under government regulations. Epoxy resin has been used in the voids. The finish contains two coats of heavy duty linseed oil; sanded after each coat. The linseed oil brings out the unique characteristics of the wood.
