Jatoba also known as Brazilian Cherry (Hymenaea courbaril) is found in Central American, northern South American and the West Indies. The tree grows up to 130 feet high and can be just over three feet wide. The heartwood ranges from a dusty orange to darker reddish brown colors. The sapwood is typically a light yellow with some gray. This Jatoba is from Costa Rica and was harvested under government environmental regulations.

The finish contains three coats of linseed oil with natural driers that create beautiful natural finish that is resistant to UV rays. The Jatoba was sanded after each coat.
